On Thursday night, the deceased Haidar Ali, 25, a Bandra West resident, with several cases of petty theft against him, sneaked into a construction site near Bandra Worli Sea Link.

A security guard spotted Ali, following which the trio, Tokri Soste, Rocky Karjai and Mangesh Kajole, caught Ali and tied him up. They then started hitting Ali with bamboo sticks. He succumbed to the injuries on the spot, said the police. A local informed the police following which a case was filed.

“We booked them on charges of murder,” said Pratap Dighavkar, DCP (zone 9).
