Versova woman was not raped, say police
Prima facie medical report of the unidentified woman found dead in Versova on Wednesday does not suggest rape, said Versova police. But, the police are certain that she was murdered as she had several injury marks on her body.

The body of the woman, in her twenties, was found lying nude by a passerby who informed the police. “We will also be conducting more medical tests so that we can determine whether she was raped or no with certainty,” said Suresh Nalavade of Versova police station.
The face of the victim was smashed with a stone. The police believe that this was done on purpose in a bid to conceal the identity of the woman.
The police have found several injuries on her hands, necks and other parts of the body that they feel could probably imply that she was tortured or beaten up by the accused.
