Woman alleges employer raped her for several years

The Virar police registered a case of rape after a 37-year-old married woman alleged that her employer had raped her several times over the past few years.

The Virar police registered a case of rape after a 37-year-old married woman alleged that her employer had raped her several times over the past few years.

The victim, in her complaint to the police, said the accused, an estate agent, had threatened to throw acid on her daughter and rape her too, if she refused to get into a physical relationship with him, police said.

The police registered a case against the accused on December 24 under sections 376 (punishment for rape), 504 (intentional insult with intent to provoke breach of the peace), 506 (punishment for criminal intimidation) and 323 (punishment for voluntarily causing hurt) of the Indian Penal Code.

The accused, a resident of Manasvi bungalow at Phul-Pada in Virar (East) is absconding, said the police.

No arrests have been made so far and police investigation is still underway.
