Singer Cliff Richard is pleased that his two-year-long battle against sex abuse charges is over.

The 75-year-old songwriter’s ongoing court case, which he has been battling against after the South Yorkshire police raided his mansion on live television without permission, has been completely shut down and he has been proved “innocent”, reported Female First.
“As I have said previously, I’m innocent, so I’m obviously pleased with today’s decision. I hope it brings this matter to a close,” he said.
“The investigation, which has spanned two years, is estimated to have cost in the region of 800,000 pounds, including staffing costs. After careful consideration of the evidence provided to them, the CPS (Crown Prosecution Service) has concluded that no further action should be taken against the man due to there being insufficient evidence to prosecute,” the police said.

Although Cliff’s case was dismissed earlier this year when the court felt there was “insufficient evidence” to charge him, the Crown Prosecution Service (CPS) had subsequently received two further accusations against the star musician after a second alleged victim, who claimed he had been assaulted by Richards, requested the case to be reviewed.
A jubilant Richard, known for his hit song Bachelor Boy, is ‘back at work’ on his new album, reported themirror.co.uk.
“He just wants to get back to work, and making music is what he does best. It would be the icing on the cake if he tops the charts,” a friend of his told the website.
The star’s 15-track album, due out November 11, includes covers of Roll Over Beethoven, Sweet Little Sixteen and Great Balls of Fire, plus new track It’s Better to Dream and a “duet” with Elvis Presley on Blue Suede Shoes.
