After the shocking news of star singer Zayn Malik's decision to quit, came a rumour that Harry Styles too might follow suit. It has now come to light that in an interview with British tabloid The Sun Zayn Malik has said that the band might just break up and that he is sorry for letting his fans down.

In the interview, the 22-year-old singer admitted that his decision was crazy and wild and a bit mad but he never felt more in control in his life, The Sun reported.

He continued that he felt like he was doing what was right, right by himself and right by the boys.

Malik confessed it that he had wanted to leave the band for some time.

He added that it was not that he had turned his back on his fans or anything, it was just that he just could not do it anymore because it was not real to him.

One Direction will now continue as a four-piece band. Malik further added that the band will continue singing as they want to and will do so for a while.
