Nupur has been in jail as an accused in the Aarushi Talwar murder case. The high court bench, comprising justice BK Narain and justice AK Mishra, passed the order while hearing a parole application filed by Nupur, Aarushi’s mother.

Talwar’s contention was that her mother was seriously ill and since her other siblings were outside the country, she should be released on parole so that she could look after her mother until they returned.

The court has granted a three-week parole to Talwar.

Rajesh Talwar and his wife Nupur, both dentists, were convicted in the sensational double murder case of their daughter Aarushi and domestic help Hemraj Banjade. While the 14-year-old Aarushi was killed at the Talwars’ Noida residence on the night of May 15, 2008, Hemraj’s body was found on the terrace a day later.

Dasna jail officials in Ghaziabad said the appeal for parole was filed in May. “We have not yet received the order for her release. It will take a couple of days for the documentary formalities to be completed before she can be released on parole,” said SP Yadav, superintendent at Dasna jail.
