Man found with throat slit in Noida, in-laws under scanner

The victim is unemployed at present and was married but later got separated from his wife. According to police, his family has alleged that he was injured in an attack on his life by his in-laws.

A 32-year-old man was found unconscious and his throat slit along a road in Sector 142 on Tuesday evening. The family of the victim has alleged that he was attacked by his in-laws, following an ongoing altercation with his wife.

The man, Gyanendra (single name), is currently undergoing treatment at a private hospital in Sector 137. He is a resident of Shahdara village, Greater Noida, and was found lying unconscious in Sector 142 by passersby, who alerted the police.

“He was found around 7pm bleeding from his slit throat. Locals rushed him to Felix hospital in Sector 137 and made a call to the police helpline (100). He is currently in the intensive care unit (ICU) and seems to be critical,” Munish Chauhan, station house officer, Surajpur police station, said.

Police suspect that he was attacked by a sharp object while he was on his way home.

Gyanendra, who is unemployed at present, is married but is separated from his wife. The couple also has an infant daughter. According to police, his family has alleged that he was injured in ana attack on his life by his in-laws.

“The family has blamed Gyanedra’s in-laws for the attack. According to them, there was an ongoing issue between the victim and his wife due to which they had been separated for a few months. He didn’t get along with his in-laws,” the SHO said.

However, the family has not filed a complaint yet. “A case will be registered as soon as we receive a written complaint. Meanwhile, a probe in the matter is on,” Chauhan said.
