Noida Supertech case: '‘We want our flats back, will move SC’

"We have not been heard so far in the high court because we were unaware of the case going on against our tower. We want our flats back, and to get that we will file a plea in the Supreme Court.

We have formed a team of buyers, who are experts in several fields to fight strongly on legal issues because we have invested our life savings to get a dream home," said Pradeep Chandra, retired deputy inspector general (DIG) of UP, who had booked a flat in 2009.

A former comptroller and auditor general (CAG), who had booked his flat in this project, is advising home-buyers on legal issues. The Allahabad High Court has ordered the demolition of the two 40-storey towers and asked the builder to return the money to buyers with 14% interest.

But majority of buyers are not budging from their demand of a flat.

The two towers have 857 housing units and around 627 aggrieved home buyers are facing the prospect of watching their flats turn to rubble.

"We are using buyers’ expertise in their respective field so that we can get relief and our flats back because we will fail to buy a house in Noida with the returned amount. We do not even want to shift to any other project.

One of the buyers, a senior advocate, is about to complete the drafting of our petition," said DK Sharma, an interior designer, one of the buyers.

The Supertech Group and the Noida authority are likely to challenge HC order in the Supreme Court in the next 7-8 days.

"I will go to any extent, be it organise a protest, or sit on an indefinite dharna, to get my flat because I have invested my hard-earned money with the hope of getting a dream home," said Sanjay Agarwal a CA.
