Woman molested, savior detained
A call centre employee was allegedly molested and assaulted by three men in a Swift car outside her office in Sector 135 in the wee hours of Thursday. The incident happened when the victim came out with a colleague for some refreshments.
The victim alleged that while she was standing at a food joint, three men in the car abused her and tried to pull her inside the car. She raised an alarm following which they sped away. After 10 minutes, they returned and tried to pull her again in the car.
Employees at the food joint came to her rescue and vandalised the car. Shockingly, the police have registered an FIR against the food joint employees for vandalising the car and detained one of them.
"Two girls of a call centre came to the food joint late in the night (around 2am). Three men, who were already there in a Swift car passed comments upon seeing the girls. The girls first ignored them but when the men came closer, abused them and tried to pull one of them inside the car, the girls raised an alarm after which they sped away. But after a while when they returned and tried to pull her inside the car again, we intervened," said Rishipal Chauhan, uncle of one of the employees, who works at the food joint.
"Next morning, when I went to my office I heard that Shekhar Chauhan, one of the food joint employees, was detained by the police instead of the three men. I went to the senior policemen to file an FIR against the men. Chauhan tried to help me. It is shocking that the police have detained him and I had to run from pillar to post to get an FIR registered," said the victim.
The victim's FIR was registered after she met the SSP.
