The boys’ under-17 match between Pehlaj Bajwa of Chandigarh and Abhijit Malik was taken the distance with the former winning 4-11, 11-9, 12-10, 6-11, 11-6.
Another player to impress was Janet Vidhi of Delhi, who won the girls under-17 title with a win over Pankhuri Malhotra. Janet dropped the third game and then fought to win the fourth to register a 11-9, 11-7, 8-11, 15-13 score-line.
Delhi’s domination was broken by two players from Maharashtra — Rahil Fazelbhoy and Yohan Pandole – as they won the boys u-15 and u-13 title respectively.
While Fazelbhoy beat Delhi’s Dhivj Singh 11-8, 11-5, 11-5, Pandole dropped a game to Junaid Muzaffar before winning 11-7, 11-5, 11-6.
