Gold, bronze for India in Asian Archery GP

The India men’s compound team clinched a gold while the recurve trio bagged a bronze medal in the Asian Archery Grand Prix in Bangkok.

The India men’s compound team clinched a gold while the recurve trio bagged a bronze medal in the Asian Archery Grand Prix in Bangkok on Tuesday. The compound team comprising Sandeep Kumar, Abhishek Verma, Jignas Chittibomma emerged 226-218 victorious over Vietnam to win the gold. The recurve men’s team of Atanu Das, Rahul Banerjee and Binod Swansi defeated Russia in the bronze-medal match.

Arundhati wins first qualifier at Swiss Open

Arundhati Pantawane made a winning start in the qualifying round of the women’s singles event at the Swiss Open Badminton Championship while compatriot Tanvi Lad made an early exit. Pantawane beat her Chinese Taipei opponent Ya Lan Chang 21-16 21-15 in 26 minutes. She will meet Sun Yu of China next.

Little Master, Air Force emerge victorious

Ankur Julka's 65 not out helped Little Master beat NK Khanna in DDCA League. In other matches, Khaled Mohammed's 6/45 helped Indian Air Force beat Sonnet by 47 runs, Vijay Bahadur Mishra's five-wicket haul and 83* helped State Bank of India win, GG Dutt beat Three Star by two wickets while Young Delhi thrashed Bank of India by 10 wickets.
