Identified miscreants had looted container consignment of 660 cartons worth Rs. 1.75 crore after killing the driver and the cleaner of the vehicle. Police said the consignment was on way to Patna from Saharanpur-based ITC company.

Miscreants hijacked the container and killed its driver and threw his body at a place under Chenari police station in Sasaram.

The body was identified as that of Mukesh Thakur, a resident of Chakan-Bela village in Gaya district. During investigation, police found that the consignment had reached toll-gate on GT Road (Sasaram), but they did not cross the tall barrier.

Aurangabad SP Daljit Singh said a police team led by SDPO Ajai Narayan Yadav conducted a raid at the house of Shoiab Alam and Hasim Husain and recovered cigarette cartons.
