A minor fire broke out at the Patna airport terminal building on Friday but was soon doused without causing any major damage, airport officials said.

The fire started during the welding of an air conditioner duct close to the VIP entrance this afternoon, Airport Director Atul Dixit said.

He said since the blaze was quite small, it was put out by the airport staff without any major damage. "Flight operations were unaffected and everything is normal now," he said.
