Acting on a tip-off, police raided the village and arrested Kishor Yadav from his house and seized 116 bottles of IMFL, superintendent of police Ashish Bharti said.

Yadav had allegedly brought the consignment of liquor from Jharkhand to sell to local consumers at a premium.

Yadav’s two associates, Santosh Yadav and Shatrujeet Yadav, managed to escape ahead of the police raid, Bharti said.

Bihar was in April declared a dry state with the Nitish Kumar government imposing a total ban on the sale and consumption of alcohol, including IMFL.
