The decision comes months after the property was seized following a Patna high court decision upholding an order of the special vigilance court to confiscate the property of the tainted officer.

On Friday, the state cabinet approved the proposal to transfer the property located at Ved Nagar in Rukunpura, Danapur to the social welfare department for opening a special school for challenged children.

Mishra, a retired IPS officer, is facing a disproportionate assets case (DA) case for amassing wealth beyond known source of income. In August last, the district administration had seized Mishra’ two storied house measuring 5000 square feet, christened ‘Madhukunj’.

“There are many schools for physically challenged running from rented premises. The welfare department will take a call on which school to shift tot the seized bungalow,” said principal secretary, cabinet coordination Vijay Prakash.

Earlier, two schools were opened in confiscated property of officers facing disproportionate assets (DA) and corruption charges, namely, 1981 batch IAS SS Verma and treasury clerk Girish Kumar. The confiscated property of the tainted IAS officer is also located in Rukunpura and houses a primary school, shifted from Musahari area.

In another decision, the state cabinet approved the proposal to provide 30% special allowance to central para military force officers who are attached with ASP ( operations) and engaged in anti-Naxal operations in Bihar. The allowance has been given at par with personnel of the special task force.

Another Rs. 33 crore was sanctioned for construction of an RCC bridge and approach road on Burhi Gandak near Kodaria ghat in Minapur block of Muzaffarpur district.
