Afghanistan earthquake kills over 1,000, destruction captured in pics

An earthquake struck eastern Afghanistan on Wednesday, killing over 1,000 people and injuring hundreds more, agencies said citing local media. Footage from the Paktika province in the east, near the Pakistan border, showed people being airlifted via helicopters. The quake was of a magnitude of 6.1, with tremors were felt in parts of Pakistan too, including capital Islamabad.
