PHOTOS: A glimpse of the InsideOut Art competition for LGBTQ+ artists in India
InsideOut recently announced the winners of the second InsideOut Art Prize for LGBTQ+ artists in India. The competition was open to artists who are residents of India and identify as LGBTQ. The theme for 2019 is 'Awakening.' Awakening can signify independence and self-fulfilment, an increase in confidence and optimism, or a journey of self-reflection. It can be liberating and joyous, while simultaneously confusing and painful. Entrants in this year’s competition have explored the concept of awakening from their own experience of being LGBTQ in India. The winners and finalists (representing 46 artists from across India) will be exhibited until December 7, 2019 at the Art Junction gallery in New Delhi’s LaLiT Hotel. The gallery will be open to the public from 11 am – 7 pm each day.

This is the second year for the InsideOut Art competition. Out of 76 entries from across India, the judges chose 46 finalists.
