Be it an ad or a feature film, Bollywood stars have no qualms in going the extra mile to acquire the look that suits the character to the T. Hence, prosthetics has acquired prominence in the industry. We look at a few roles that demanded a lot more from the actors in terms of their physical features. |Arjun Kapoor: The young actor has undergone an unrecognisable transformation for a new ad, the make-up for which took him more than four hours. "What’s interesting is that the prosthetic make-up was done by Indian make-up artists for just one shot while Arjun was shooting for the ad in Romania," says an insider close to the actor, who has 12 different looks in the ad film. Priyanka Chopra: For a crucial sequence in the Mary Kom biopic, Priyanka went for a bald look, without actually shaving her head. The makers decided to use prosthetics, since she had to be in that get-up only for a couple of scenes. However, the actor was quoted as saying that if a film requires her to shave her head entirely, she will do it.

Hrithik Roshan: Essaying the role of Rohit in Krrish 3 (2013) was challenging for Hrithik. Since Koi Mil Gaya (the prequel to the superhero film) released in 2003, Rohit’s character had to look a little aged in Krrish. The result was that just like Amitabh Bachchan in Paa (2009), Hrithik spent more than four hours to get ready for those scenes with prosthetic expert, Mike Stringer (best known for Lord Of The Rings trilogy).
