On Friday morning, the pilgrimage to the cave shrine of Amarnath from Baltal base camp in central Kashmir’s Ganderbal district was again suspended after heavy rains damaged the tracks. “We are keeping our fingers crossed and won’t allow the pilgrims unless the track is safe,” Ganderbal deputy commissioner Piyush Singla said. Union finance minister Piyush Goya said that the government will get all data on black money or illegal transaction from Switzerland by the end of fiscal 2019. One militant was killed in an encounter with security forces in Trehgam of Kupwara district in Jammu and Kashmir, police said. Reports of another encounter came in from Pulwama’s Chatapora. The militants are reportedly trapped in a residential building. (PTI File)

Hours before the 12-seater aircraft crashed in a crowded Mumbai suburb on Thursday, maintenance engineer Surabhi Gupta - among the five killed in the incident- told her father in Sonepat over phone that she was going to fly in a “sick aircraft”. The aircraft crashed in Ghatkopar in Mumbai, killing both pilots and two maintenance engineers on board, besides a pedestrian. (PTI)
