PHOTOS: Shelling hits Donetsk as Russia-Ukraine crisis rages on
Shelling continues to impact the Donetsk region of east Ukraine as the war between Russia and Ukraine rages on in its ninth month. Explosions were reported in multiple parts of the region on Sunday, damaging residential buildings, administrative centers, a kindergarten, and a church. The Bakhmut area of Donetsk witnessed heavy infrastructural damage but no casualties were reported. The Russian Investigative Committee, however, alleged that Ukrainian shelling injured two people in Donetsk, self-proclaimed by Russia as the Donetsk People's Republic (DPR).

Hours after the shelling subsided, firefighters were seen outside damaged buildings.
