A 15-year-old Ishita Mukund Mate, a resident of Magarpatta city, fell off Tung fort in Mulshi area while climbing down and succumbed to her injuries on Sunday evening.

According to sources, Ishita had gone to visit the fort with a Pune-based trekking group Pugmarks. The group of 17 trekkers spent the entire day at the fort. When they were coming down at 3pm, Ishita slipped from the narrow path and fell into a 150 feet gorge. Lonavla police rushed to the spot and, with the help of other trekkers, pulled out her body.

“It was late night and hence, it wasn’t possible to send the body for post-mortem. Tomorrow morning (Monday), we will send the body to a government hospital,” said Ramesh Palande, a police official posted in Pawananagar.
