Like Chetan, several others have benefitted from skill and entrepreneurship programmes at the institute. Vishwesh Kulkarni, president, Yashaswi Group said, “The schemes under Pradhan Mantri Kaushal Vikas Yojana are doing very well pan India. We should focus on employment rather than just skilling.”

For example, chefs and those in cooking industry are now getting a lot of respect because of celebrity involvement and exposure. We need to see other skills attract more respectability.”
Homemaker Bhagyashree Mohite, 36, is pursuing a fashion designing diploma and has completed a bag making course from the institute. Mohite said, “I knew how to stitch, but the institute taught me how to use my potential to the fullest. I now not only make cloth bags but also teach the neighbourhood women. The learning has guided me in terms of new designs and new market trends.”
On Saturday, the institute is holding a ‘Working Model Exhibition’ where trainees have prepared engineering working models.
