After the firing, stone pelting incident between two groups was also reported.

Confirming the incident, station house officer (SHO) of the Division B police station inspector Amrik Singh said: “The incident took place owing to a dispute over a shop. The complainant, Jagjit Singh, is a tenant of the shop, which the people who have bought the shop wanted him to vacate.”

Four people were injured in the incident and a case was registered against eight people in this connection, added the inspector, adding that the tension prevailed in the in Chamrang road area following the firing and stone pelting incidents.
