A delegation of BKU, led by its national president Bhupinder Singh Mann, here on Wednesday submitted a demand charter to deputy commissioner (DC) Abhinav Trikha to be forwarded to chief minister Parkash Singh Badal.

The delegation told the DC that in the wake of rising prices of seeds, fertilisers, labour and other costs of production, the MSP of sugarcane must be fixed at or more than `400 per quintal. "Otherwise the farmers would be at a loss," they added.
