After heavy rain brought down temperatures considerably last weekend, Chandigarh is set for a dry spell and hotter days, say officials of the Indian Meteorological Department (IMD), Chandigarh.

No rainfall is expected till the end of the week except for light rain and thunder on Friday.

“The weather will be pleasant as light rainfall is expected, but it is unlikely to be as heavy the downpour last weekend,” the Met official said.

Some light rain is also possible on Sunday, he added.

Temperatures are set to rise in next few days, hitting the usual June highs of 40 degree Celsius. Humidity levels are also expected to remain high.

The temperature on Saturday rose from 33.6 to 36 degree Celsius. With maximum humidity of 90% the day was both hot and humid.
