On Sunday, he drowned himself in the water tank of Sangha village in Sardulgarh assembly constituency of Punjab. The police recovered his body with the help of divers. His wife had been saved from the Fatehabad canal water but all the girls she had pushed into it had died by Saturday evening.

Like his wife, Arora also has been charged with abetting suicide. “Arora committed suicide around 1.30 am on Sunday,” said senior superintendent of police Narinder Bhargav. “The family had put pressure on Pooja to beget a son.”
