Rs 3.64 lakh stolen from parked car

Miscreants took away Rs 3.64 lakh by breaking the windowpanes of a car in Malerkotla town of the district on Monday.

According to the police, Mahesh Inder Singh of Khurad village, had withdrawn Rs 3.64 lakh from the Malerkotla branch of the Oriental Bank of Commerce
located at the Delhi gate. After withdrawing the money, he went at his friend's shop and parked the car in the improvement trust market but kept the money in the car below the seat. Nearly 15 minutes later, when he returned, he found the windowpane of his car broken and the money stolen.

When contacted, Malerkotla DSP William Jeji said the police had registered a case under Section 379 of the IPC against unknown persons. To identify them, the police had taken the CCTV footage of the location.
