The incident happened at a primary school in Dasoanda Singh Wala village here, when Punjabi teacher Harcharan Singh kicked Gurpreet Singh on his face leaving him injured.

According to the information, when the student failed to answer the questions of the teacher he was physically assaulted.

The boy's parents were called on the spot who later rushed him to the Civil Hospital in Malerkotla.

The police said they have received the complaint but would register the case after statement of the injured.

Meanwhile, both teacher and district education officer (primary) Sher Singh could not be contacted.

Pertinently, this was second incident in past week as two students were beaten up by their teachers at Government Senior Secondary School for girls in Sangrur.
