Woman accuses father-in-law of sexual harassment

Police have booked a retired banker (60) for forcing her daughter-in-law to maintain physical relations with him. The Division Number 4 police has registered a case under sections 354 (1) (a) (forcing a woman for having physical relationships), 506 (criminal intimidation) and 509 (for word, gesture or act intended to insult the modesty of a woman) of the Indian Penal Code against the accused, a resident of Chander Nagar.

The Division Number 4 police has registered a case under sections 354 (1) (a) (forcing a woman for having physical relationships), 506 (criminal intimidation) and 509 (for word, gesture or act intended to insult the modesty of a woman) of the Indian Penal Code against the accused, a resident of Chander Nagar.

In her complaint, the woman alleged that she got married in 2010. After some time of marriage her father in law started keeping an evil eye on her.

The accused also started forcing her to maintain physical relations with him. When she resisted, the accused threatened her of dire consequences.

The woman said she revealed the incident to her husband and other family members, who after discussing the matter decided to lodge a complaint.

Sub-inspector Mukesh Kumar, incharge of the Jagatpuri police post, said the police have launched a manhunt to arrest the accused.
