Actors obliging to fan demands often lead to heartwarming tales. One such moment came in for a die-hard Kamal Haasan fan, Jayaraj, who would have never thought his wish to meet his idol would get fulfilled in this lifetime.

Hailing from Choolaimedu, Chennai, this fan collects old clothes and sells them in Moore market complex to earn his living. In a YouTube video, posted by a Tamil channel, Jayaraj had once spoken about how he looks up to Kamal Haasan the politician as much as he loves and admires Kamal Haasan the actor. He also admitted that despite all that he could do, his attempts to meet the actor had been futile so far.

According to a source close to Haasan, it was only recently that he got to watch this video after someone forwarded it to him and he was so touched by this fan’s gesture that he decided to meet him. “After watching the video, Haasan sir requested to make arrangements for the fan to come and meet him immediately. Finding Jayaraj wasn’t easy, as he’s always on the move to earn his living and it took us a few days to trace him. The video’s anchor got in touch with Jayaraj’s relatives and then they informed Haasan sir’s digital team,” says the source, adding that Jayaraj finally met Haasan at his party office on June 8.

The source also shares that Jayaraj was awestruck and speechless at the sight of his idol. “He became teary eyed when Haasan sir put his hand around his shoulders and spoke to him like a long-lost friend. He also asked Jayaraj if he had food and he replied that he generally has food by 3pm. Haasan sir graciously said, ‘come here and eat when you feel hungry, this is like your home too,’” adds the source.
