Ileana D’Cruz set for Tollywood comeback, likely to reunite with Ravi Teja in Amar Akbar Anthony
Ileana D Cruz, who was last seen in Raid opposite Ajay Devgn will be making a comeback to the Tollywood industry with Ravi Teja’s Amar Akbar Anthony.
Ileana D’Cruz is no stranger to Telugu filmdom. Having delivered some of her career’s biggest hits in the industry in the form of Pokkiri, Kick and July, she’s all set to make a comeback. If the industry grapevine is anything to go by, Ileana may reunite with Ravi Teja in director Sreenu Vaitla’s upcoming film Amar Akbar Anthony, in which Ravi plays triple role. Apparently, Ileana has been brought in as the replacement to Anu Emmanuel, who opted out of the project citing date issues. Anu recently tweeted: “Unfortunately I won’t be a part of Amar Akbar Anthony due to date clash between Sailaja Reddy Alludu. I wish the team of Amar Akbar Anthony all the best.”
According to a source from the film’s production house Mythri Movie Makers, Ileana has been signed and she’s thrilled to be part of the project. “It’s true that she has been signed. She’s expected to join the sets soon.” It’s worth mentioning that just last week Ileana hinted via a tweet that she may team up with Ravi Teja soon. As fans were celebrating 9 years of Kick, which had featured Ravi and Ileana, the Rustom actress took to Twitter and wrote: “9 years! I think Ravi and I need to do another film again! This one was so special though. Naina was one of my funniest characters till date.” Ravi and Ileana had also worked together in 2012 Telugu film Devudu Chesina Manushulu, directed by Puri Jagannadh. It was also her last Telugu outing.
Meanwhile, Vaitla recently completed the first schedule of Amar Akbar Anthony in the US. Ravi Teja, having recently completed work on Kalyan Krishna’s Nela Ticket, is looking forward to this project. Having begun the year on a dull note with the failure of Touch Chesi Chudu, Ravi hopes to find his mojo back with this film which is important for Vaitla as well after the back-to-back failures of Bruce Lee and Mister.
