Actor Nagababu, known for character roles in several Telugu films, has put to rest rumours about a biopic on his brother and popular star Chiranjeevi. Following reports that a biopic is in the initial stages on the life of the actor, his brother cleared the air in his latest interview to a popular channel.
Nagababu said his brother lives a content and complete life. Even the minor struggles in the beginning of his career don’t really warrant a film to be made on his life.
“When it comes to Savitri, Silk Smitha and Sanjay Dutt, their lives were full of struggles and controversies. Their personal lives were not peaceful. That’s why films on their lives deserved to be made and did extremely well at the box-office. My brother Chiru, on the other hand, leads a fantastic and complete life whether it is onscreen and off-screen,” said Nagababu.
Chiranjeevi will be seen next in the upcoming period drama Sye Raa Narasimha Reddy, which will retell the epic story of Kurnool-based freedom fighter Uyyalawada Narasimha Reddy.
Being directed by Surender Reddy, the film’s ensemble cast includes Amitabh Bachchan, Nayanthara, Tamannaah Bhatia, Kichcha Sudeep and Jagapathi Babu among others.
The film, to be dubbed and released in Hindi and Tamil, is being produced by Ram Charan on a lavish budget of Rs 150 crore. If everything goes as planned, the team is eyeing early next year release.
Double Oscar-winning composer AR Rahman was originally signed for the project. However, last December he opted out of the project, citing scheduling conflict; his exit came as a big blow to the makers. He was eventually replaced by Amit Trivedi, who is making his Telugu debut with this project.
