Rajnikanth’s wax figure unveiled at Jaipur museum to coincide with Kaala release
South super star Rajinikanth’s fans thronged to a wax museum at Jaipur’s Nahargarh fort, where a new figure was installed on Thursday to coincide with the release of Rajini’s latest film, Kaala.
The wax figure of actor Rajinikanth was unveiled at Jaipur Wax Museum, Nahargarh Fort, coinciding with the release of the mega star’s new film, Kaala.
The statue weighs around 55 kg and has a height of 5.9 inches. A team of Wang Ping and Susanta Ray created it in three months, said museum’s founder director Anoop Srivastava.
He said, “Tourists, especially from Tamil Nadu, requested us to install the wax figure of the super star.” The museum gets tourists from South India in huge numbers, he added.
The statue, he said, was installed on Thursday and has been placed next to that of the star of the millennium Amitabh Bachchan in the Hall of Icon arena of the museum, Srivastava said.
After the installation of Rajinikanth’s wax figure, the number of statues in the museum has gone up to 36. The look of the statue is inspired from the 1999 movie Paadyappa directed by KS Ravikumar.
“The Jaipur Wax Museum will send an invitation to Rajinikanth Sir to visit it. Let’s see if he accepts our invitation,” Srivastava said.
He added that the decision of making a statue is made based on the feedback from the tourists who visit the museum.
“We are working on statues of Shah Rukh and Salman Khan and the two Khans will soon be part of our collection,” he added.
Jaipur Wax Museum’s motto has always been to entertain the visitors and at the same time to inspire them also. It doesn’t follow glamour alone while deciding the celebrities for statue.
Recently, the museum installed the statue of hocket star Sandeep Singh’s statue because his story is very inspiring. His life changed completely when he was accidentally hit by a bullet. Doctors and society gave up completely on him and it was an end of a career for him but Singh gathered his will power and made a comeback to a sport which he loved passionately and takes Indian hockey to another level.
“We want that the next generation should get inspired with this story. The youth of today loses hope and confidence and in depression goes awry, for such people Sandeep Singh’s story is an inspiration. In future too we will keep installing wax figures of inspirational personalities” said Srivastava.
