Sivakarthikeyan’s Mr Local will not feature any booze-related song, scenes depicting abuse of women
Sivakarthikeyan and Nayanthara starrer Mr Local is steer clear of bar songs and scenes depicting abuse of women, the makers have said.
Actor Sivakarthikeyan, who was heavily panned by critics and audiences alike for endorsing stalking in his film Remo, has ensured there will be no bar song and scenes showing abuse of women in his forthcoming release Mr Local.
At the pre-release event in Chennai on Tuesday, film’s director Rajesh M said that Siva insisted that the film doesn’t feature booze song and scenes portraying abuse of women.
“Usually, my films have had scenes involving alcohol or ridiculing women for breaking up. When the project was planned, Siva requested me to avoid these. I can promise that Mr Local will be a clean, colourful entertainer,” Rajesh said.
The film, slated to hit the screens on Friday, also stars Nayanthara, Yogi Babu, Radikaa Sarath Kumar, Sathish and Robo Shankar among other. Mr Local marks the reunion of Siva and Nayanthara, who had previously worked together in Velaikkaran.
Speaking on the occasion, Siva said: “Unlike Velaikkaran, Nayanthara has a full-fledged role in Mr Local. I was slightly unhappy that we couldn’t give more screen space to a talent like Nayanthara in Velaikkaran. But I’m glad she was given her due in this film. She comes in the 15th minute and will be seen till the end. This is a light-hearted entertainer. A perfect film for your entire family this summer.”
The film, produced by Studio Green, marks the maiden collaboration of Rajesh and Siva. Aadhi of Hip Hop Tamizha fame has composed music.
Producer Gnanavel Raja thanked Siva for entrusting him with this project. He said the project materialized at a crucial juncture in his career where things weren’t going great.
