Thamizh Padam 2 teaser: All is fair in this spoof movie starring Siva directed by CS Amudhan.

Thamizh Padam 2 Aka TP 2.0 is the most anticipated movie in the industry currently. It does not have a huge star cast or crew, but what it does have is an irreverent sense of humour. The first film was a spoof, which had the audience laughing hard. With the film’s success came the sequel. Like Deadpool, the foul mouthed superhero, Shiva in Thamizh Padam 2 has no boundaries when it comes to getting snarky.

TP 2.0 like Rajinikanth’s 2.0 is bigger and, from the looks of it, better. It begins with actor Siva -- as a cop -- taking oath, much like Mahesh Babu’s Bharat Ane Nenu, and ends with a spoof of the iconic scene from Vikram Vedha, where Vedha asks Vikram, “Oru Kadha Sollata sir (Shall I tell you a story?)”.

There is also a dig taken at Vishal’s Thupparivalan, Vijay’s Thuppaki and Mersal, Ajith’s Vivegam and Mangatha, and more. The fact that Shiva dons khakhi does make one hope that this film has a special place for Suriya’s Singam franchise.

Fans on Twitter are showering praise on the team for their sharp comic sense and the teaser has touched a million views within five hours of release.

Producer S Sashikanth took to Twitter and wrote, “After 8 years in the making (we have no idea why) @actorshiva is back (we have no idea why) as the galaxy cop (we have no idea why ) .... but here he is .... @csamudhan @Ishmenon @actorsathish @onlynikil #TamizhPadam2 #TP2Point0.”

Thamizh Padam 2 is director by CS Amudhan and produced under Y Not Studios banner. The film also stars Disha Pandey and Iswarya Menon, and is expected to hit the screens on July.
