CWG 2022 Day 5 Highlights: India men's TT team, women's Lawn Bowls win gold; silver in badminton, weightlifting

A superb comeback by G Sathiyan as he bounces back from 8-4 to earn the first game point. However, Pang makes it 10-all, but Sathiyan regains the advantage. He then closes the opening game 12-10. 

An superb display by Zhe Yu Clarence Chew as he defeats Sharath Kamal 3-1 in the men's singles finals. He closes the fourth game 11-9. The other three games ended in 11-7, 12-14, 11-3. 

With this result both India and Singapore are back on level terms. 

What a response by Zhe Yu Clarence Chew, after losing the second game he bounces back in some style and closes the third game 11-3. 

Sharath Kamal is trailing 2-1 against Chew as India lead Singapore 1-0.  

After going down 11-7 in the opening game, Sharath Kamal throws away three game points. Zhe Yu Clarence Chew secures three consecutive points to go 10-all. 

Sharath then takes the next point but Chew ensures the game goes on by making it 11-all. He then takes the lead, pushing Sharath on the backfoot, but makes an error. The scores are 12-12. 

Sharath eventually wins the game 14-12.

Nayanmoni Saikia, Pinki, Lovely Choubey and Rupa Rani Tirkey script history as they beat South Africa in the women's four lawn bowls final to win a gold medal. This is India's first medal in the sport.

They win the match 17-10. 

India builds on the momentum and take a five point lead after end 14. IND 15-10 SA

The next match is men's singles between India's veteran paddler Sharath Kamal against Singapore's Zhe Yu Clarence Chew. 

The Singapore puts up a strong show and closes the opening game 11-7.

The Indian pair of G Sathiyan and Harmeet Desai put a strong show in Match number one of the men's table tennis finals. They defeat Singapore's Yong Izaac Quek and Yew En Koen Pang 13-11, 11-7 and 11-5. 

With this India lead 1-0 in the finals.

India regain advantage after end 13. IND 12-10 SA 

Finally India have a breakthrough and are back on level terms with South Africa in the women's four lawn bowls final. Both the sides have 10 points each after end 12.

The pair of Harmeet Desai and G Sathiyan start the men's table tennis finals against Singapore. They are up against the pair of Yong Izaac Quek and Yew En Koen Pang. 

The Indian pair have won the opening two games 13-11, 11-7. The third game is underwat and India are leading 3-0 at the moment. 

South Africa carry forward the momentum as they have snatched the lead from India. They are 2 points ahead after end 11. IND 8-10 SA

India, who were leading 8-2 after end 7, have squandered the advantage. South Africa produce a good comeback and are now sharing equal points (8-8) after end 10.

Dutee Chand fails to qualify for the semifinal in women's 100m. She finishes fourth and completes the distance in 11:55s in her heat. 

The top three from each heat and the next three fastest qualify for the semifinals.

India extend their lead further after end 7. IND 8-2 SA

India lead 7-2 after end 6. 

India lead 4-2 after End 5 after some brilliant throws! Tirkey's last roll takes the jack closer to India's bowl!

A brilliant showing by Tirkey gets India the lead after End 4. India 3-2 South Africa!

End 3 goes to India as they pick up one point!

Poor throws by India allows South Africa to cut the deficit. Snyman puts in an accurate one to take the lead for South Africa.

After End 1, India lead 1-0.

End 2 begins and India start strongly and it has two bowls closer to the target. Pinki pushes her opponent's bowl farther away from the target and India have the advantage at the halfway mark from End 2.

Saikia made a brilliant roll to give India advantage, with two attempts to go in End 1. Rupa's first roll hit the target. South Africa's last roll pushed India's bowl closer!

South Africa are closer to the Jack after the first two rolls. Some good attempts by Pinki for India!
