How will the Snapchat app run?

The app is built on the recently launched web version of Snapchat. It runs on Microsoft’s Chromium-based Microsoft Edge. It has a size of 1.4MB and carries the same features as the web version.

As it runs through Windows official web browser- Microsoft Edge, it will have an app icon in the Start Menu and notification support similar to native apps.

If you want to use Snapchat messages or stories from your Windows laptop, the Snapchat PWA can be downloaded from the Microsoft Store. The tiny app is currently available for free to download.

In other news, Snapchat has partnered with Amazon to give its users an augmented reality try-on experience. The online retailer will now support Snap users to virtually try on eyewear styles from a range of well-known brands.

The partnership comes after Snapchat’s investments in augmented reality shopping, where the social media platform shoved out a variety of changes to attract brands and merchants. This includes the capability to change product details and prices in real-time, connect superior analytics, and easily generate AR shopping lenses.
