Intranasal Covid-19 vaccine sees low response on Day 1

Mumbai's rollout of the intranasal Covid-19 vaccine saw a low response on the first day with only 23 senior citizens taking the booster dose. The vaccine, iNCOVACC by Bharat Biotech, will be administered to those above the age of 60 and eligible six months after their second dose of either Covishield or Covaxin. The state health department recently procured 2 lakh doses, of which BMC procured around 2,000 doses. The vaccine will be given through spot registration at 24 centres across Mumbai.

It’s London calling for these tricity artists!

Chandigarh Lalit Kala Akademi (CLKA) has announced its scholarship winners for 2022-23, offering young artists from the tricity region the chance to visit museums and art galleries in London. The six selected artists will explore works by leading international artists, attend workshops and seminars and interact with fellow artists in a bid to encourage exploration, experimentation and keeping up with the times. The scholarship is open to artists aged between 20 and 30 working in graphics, printmaking, multimedia, photography, sculpture, and installation.

U.P. govt starts “Sharda” programme to get dropouts back in schools

The Uttar Pradesh government has launched the "Sharda" programme to find and enrol students who have dropped out of school. School principals, teachers and others will conduct a household survey to identify out-of-school children and enrol them in age-appropriate classes. Special training will be arranged for them, and they will be linked to social security schemes. The initiative will be conducted in two phases, with the first phase starting on April 1, 2023. Monitoring of 20 schools will be done every month by special educators, with information uploaded through the "Sharda" app.
