Bharti tested Covid-19 positive on Saturday night after which she had isolated herself at an ashram in Pauri Garhwal district. She tested positive after visiting the Kedarnath shrine on September 21, where she offered prayers following all safety norms.

A total of 112 Covid-19 positive patients have died in Uttarakhand till now, with 16 patients dying due to coronavirus, according to the health officials. The rest of the positive patients died due to co-morbidities and other causes, added health officials.

The multispeciality hospital has also introduced a doctor of medicine (DM) super-speciality course in paediatric neurology. AIIMS-Rishikesh is the fourth government institute in the country to start this prestigious course and first in Uttarakhand, Professor Ravi Kant, director, AIIMS, Rishikesh said.

With 61 fresh Covid-19 cases, Uttarakhand’s coronavirus tally now at 1,785

Out of the 61 cases, 14 patients reported on Saturday had no travel history or were local people and two were Army personnel. All the other patients had returned to the state from places like Maharashtra, Delhi-NCR, Kerala and Uttar Pradesh.

With this, a total of four health staff including two nursing officers, one nurse, one intern have tested positive for coronavirus at AIIMS Rishikesh.

The Supreme Court has allowed followers of save-Ganga crusader GD Agarwal, popularly known as Swami Gyan Swaroop Sanand, to pay their respects to his embalmed body at AIIMS, Rishikesh, for 10 consecutive Sundays.
