The gang rape spurred th Rajasthan government to announce that a deputy superintendent of police (DySP) in every district would monitor cases related to violence against women and that FIRs could be lodged in the offices of superintendents of police (SP) if police stations did not register them.
Inspector General of police of Bharatpur range, Laxman Gaur said he had received a video on Saturday morning showing four to five men asking the girl to strip while the episode is filmed. Men are also seen beating up the woman’s companion in the video that appeared to have been filmed in a hilly terrain in full daylight.
The charge sheet was filed in the special court that deals with cases under the Scheduled Castes and Scheduled Tribes (Prevention of Atrocities) Act two days after Congress president Rahul Gandhi met the rape survivor and promised her justice.
Javadekar said it is not possible that this incident has not been brought to the knowledge of the home department by the Alwar superintendent of police.
