According to the chargesheet filed in a special PMLA court in Gujarat, out of the ₹3.4 crore, Jaisinghani allegedly received around ₹2 crore in cash while the rest was in the bank accounts of his family members/entities, whose source he could not explain to the ED. Jaisinghani is named as Accused Number 12 in the chargesheet.

Bookie Anil Jaisinghani and his cousin Nirmal have failed to challenge their arrest for trying to bribe and blackmail Amruta Fadnavis, wife of Deputy Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis. The Bombay High Court refused to grant relief to the pair, who claimed that their detention and subsequent custody was illegal due to procedural lapses. The court rejected their petition, which claimed that police had violated sections 41 and 41A of the Criminal Procedure Code, stating that it lacked merits.

The court also allowed the Gujarat Enforcement Directorate to take Jaisinghani?s custody in connection with a money laundering probe launched by the agency in January 2015. Jaisinghani?s daughter, Aniksha, was arrested for allegedly trying to bribe Fadnavis.

HC reserves order on Anil Jaisinghani’s plea against “illegal arrest”
Senior advocate Mrigendra Singh for Jaisinghanis informed the bench that on March 19 Anil had been arrested from Godhra, Gujarat for blackmailing and attempting to extort ₹10 crore from Fadnavis. However, he was not produced before a magistrate between Godhra to Mumbai and was instead produced before a sessions judge in Mumbai after 36 hours and the same was against the law
