Cops seal artists’ booths at India Art Fair after complaint about ‘Shaheen Bagh-like women’

The artwork at India Art Fair was interrupted after police arrived at the venue following an “anonymous complaint made about the ‘artwork being prepared by someone wearing clothes resembling the women sitting in Shaheen Bagh”, Gargi Chandola and Yaman Navlakha of the Post Art Project said in a statement.

Raja Ravi Varma, the crown jewel of India Art Fair 2020

His exhibited painting ‘Vishnu on Sheshnag’ is an iconic and seminal representation of Raja Ravi Varma’s work, depicting the classical iconography of the deity represented here with his wives, Goddess Lakshmi and Goddess Bhumi on either side, on the seat of the Sheshnag, the snake king.
