Indian Oil's quarterly profit rises as high margins offset cost jump

Net income in the three months ended Sept. 30 rose 2.1% to 63.6 billion rupees ($849.4 million), the New Delhi-based company said in an exchange filing Saturday. That beat the average 45.6 billion rupee-profit estimated by a Bloomberg survey of analysts.
Revenue increased 47% to 1.7 trillion rupees while total costs jumped by 49% to 1.63 trillion rupees. Raw material costs doubled during the quarter.(Reuters)

Fuel prices hiked for first time since December 7, petrol closes in on all-time high in Delhi

Petrol and diesel became costlier by 26 and 25 paise respectively in Delhi on Wednesday. A litre of petrol costs Rs 83.97 in the city, just short of Rs 84 per litre from October 2018.

Indian Oil boosts refinery run to 100% capacity in November

All the refineries of IOC operated at 100% of the capacity in November, up from 88.1% in the previous October month and 98.6% in the same period last year.

Indian Oil’s 300,000 bpd east coast refinery to be shut for 3 weeks

“The Indian Oil refinery in Paradip will remain shut from July 25 to August 15 for maintenance,” said Sangram Keshari Mohapatra, the top bureaucrat in the district of Jagatsinghpur, where the refinery is located.

Indian Oil lays out Rs 26,143 crore capex plan for FY21

Since the easing of the lockdown, IOC commenced works on 336 projects that have investment of more than Rs 1 crore in each project, at an anticipated project cost totalling Rs 1.04 lakh crore, it said.

OPEC’s share of Indian oil imports in October hits lowest since 2011

India, the world’s third-biggest oil importer, shipped in 4.56 million barrels per day (bpd) of oil in October, about 3.3% less compared with a year ago, data showed. Of that, it bought 3.43 million bpd from OPEC.

For third time in a week, IOC cuts fuel supply to Jet: Report

Reduce prices or expect demand to shrink, Indian Oil warns OPEC

The world’s fastest growing crude consumer has a warning for OPEC: Start reducing prices, or waning demand will mean a curb in purchases from the crude cartel. At least that’s the suggestion from Sanjiv Singh, chairman of Indian Oil Corp., the country’s biggest refiner.
