At least 23 additional deaths were reported across the state through Saturday, taking the death toll in the current spell of rain to 190.

Maharashtra farmers get half of what you pay for milk

While consumers in Mumbai pay Rs42 per litre of cow milk, dairy farmers get Rs19-24 per litre, which is just Rs4 more than their production cost of Rs18 per litre.

UP milk federation seeks state guarantee for Rs 96 cr bank loan

The Uttar Pradesh Pradeshik Milk Cooperative Federation (Parag) has sought state guarantee to get bank loans to the tune of Rs 96 crore for paying dairy farmers. The move comes after the Gujarat government bailed out its cooperative Amul with a Rs 300 crore package.
