Rewari man commits suicide after police arrested his wife

The man, identified as Amar Singh of the same village, ended his life by hanging himself from a ceiling fan at his house after police arrested his wife Nirmla for not paying a bank loan of 44,000.

The two men have been booked under sections 307 (attempt to murder) and 34 (acts done by several persons) of Indian Penal Code.

Truck driver held for trying to run over sub-inspector in Gurugram

The police arrested him on the spot. Babu Lal, the victim, who is a sub-inspector at Bajghera police station, escaped unhurt.

This is the seventh case this year in which a police officer was assaulted for discharging his/her duty in Gurugram. Last year, a total of 18 such cases were reported.

The stunt-motorcycle slipped after it lost balance and hit a group of children in the 11-12 age group who were part of the audience, said Banaskantha Superintendent of Police Pradeep Sejul.
