Salman Khan finally launched the highly anticipated new season of Bigg Boss in Goa on Tuesday. The actor and show’s host entertained the guests and journalists at the event and said some really quirky things in his usual charming manner.
During one segment of the event, Salman revealed how he was not the first choice to host Bigg Boss when it was first launched in India. He was asked about his own ‘vichitra jodi’, this year’s overarching theme for the show, when he named a few people he believe make the best pair with him.
“Sanjay Dutt and me, and we hosted a Bigg Boss season together. So, he is the best choice for me. I will also choose Shah Rukh Khan,” he said. He further revealed that Shah Rukh was the original choice for Bigg Boss. “Not many know that he was the original choice to host Bigg Boss. He had a shoulder injury so it came to me. I thank him for this,” he said.
Talking about Shah Rukh some more, he said they could work together if something good comes their way. “I will work with him if we get a good script. He was kind enough to appear in Tubelight. And I will also be seen in Zero,” he said. Salman featured prominently in the second teaser of Shah Rukh’s upcoming movie, Zero.
Shah Rukh featured in an impressive promo for Bigg Boss with Salman in 2015. The two recreated the vibe of their hit film, Karan Arjun, to get people hyped up for the new season of the show.
At the event, Salman revealed comedian Bharti Singh and her husband Haarsh Limbachiya as the first contestant jodi of the season. Bharti confirmed that they will enter the show, “Harsh has a lot of work. Even if he gets eliminated, I want to win the show.” When asked why the couple decided to do the show, she quipped “for money,” adding, “Ever since I got married, Colors has taken care of the bills”.
Bigg Boss 12 begins September 16 and will telecast for the next three months from Monday to Friday at 10.30pm, and Saturday to Sunday at 9pm on Colors TV.
