The couple then married as per Hindu customs, followed by a reception. While Sharad was dressed in a golden sherwani, Ripci joined him in a red lehenga.

The wedding was preceded by a sangeet and a mehendi ceremony, which had their family and friends in attendance. Sharad had worn a pastel-coloured kurta-pyjama and bandhgala, while Ripci wore a blue lehenga-choli complemented with flower jewellery.

An engagement ceremony was also held on Friday and turned out to be a romantic affair. While Sharad chose to dress up in a maroon velvet bandhgala-kurta, Ripci glowed in a golden lehenga choli.

The actor had earlier told Hindustan Times in an interview, “I have always been marriage-phobic and the world knows about it. I love commitment but the idea of marriage gave me cold feet. And now that I am getting married, everyone is shocked...I have seen a couple of bad marriages but most of the bad thoughts are in your head. I am going forward in this marriage with a positive vibe.”

Talking about his wedding plans, Sharad had said, “I feel that the good things in life happen suddenly. There is a lot of excitement, nervousness and happiness as the wedding date comes closer. There is a lot happening workwise, and added to all that are the wedding preparations. So, it hasn’t sunk in yet that I am getting married (laughs). Everyone has been waiting for my marriage, including me.”

Sharad shot to fame with TV show Banoo Main Teri Dulhann and went on to play the title role in Bharat Ka Veer Putra – Maharana Pratap. He currently plays the lead role in Muskaan on Star Bharat.
