Chaos erupted on the streets of Jerusalem on April 2 as thousands of Israelis staged protest. The protesters, who were demanding Netanyahu's resignation as PM, clashed with Israeli police. The demonstrators also sought quick movement on a hostage deal, and fresh elections. Israel and Hamas have failed to agree on a truce which would see release of remaining hostages. Over 100 hostages are still believed to be in Gaza, though not all of them are still alive. Some demonstrators reportedly broke through security to enter the president's house.
