Iranian Foreign Minister Abbas Araghchi is expected in New Delhi this week for the BRICS foreign ministers’ meeting on May 14–15, and reports citing official sources say Prime Minister Narendra Modi may meet him before leaving for the UAE. If the meeting happens, it would mark Araghchi’s first India visit in about a year and his first since the U.S.-Israeli strikes sharply escalated regional tensions. Separately, Pakistan has renewed its push for full BRICS membership. Ambassador Faisal Niaz Tirmizi told TASS that Pakistan remains interested in joining the bloc and suggested India is the only country opposing its accession, while saying Russia, China, South Africa, and Brazil support Islamabad’s entry.
