Will expel 50 lakh Muslim infiltrators: Dilip Ghosh’s threat amid CAA row

Bharatiya Janata Party leader Dilip Ghosh delivered a controversial speech during a rally in West Bengal's North 24 Parganas. The BJP's state unit leader said that 50 lakh 'Muslim infiltrators' would be expelled from the country. He added that before expelling them, their names would be removed from voter lists which would reduce Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee's vote-bank. His comments assume significance amid ongoing protests against the Citizenship (Amendment) Act, 2019, and a proposed National Register of Citizens. He also said that anti-CAA protestors who indulge in vandalism would be shot if BJP comes to power in Bengal.
